My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast every Saturday for the last four months. They recognize us when we come in. In the beginning, the food was really good (hence why we went every week), and the menu changes weekly, so it never got old. The last four weeks, the food has been awful. I'm not sure if they got a new chef or what. My pancakes were burnt, the French toast was burnt, and today was an inedible quiche that was just... slimy, and undercooked, and weird. It was bad. Frequently, they run out of their specials, which sucks. The atmosphere is overwhelming hipster. The staff (all excluding the one older dude) are nice, pretty good service. So, a month ago, I would have rated this place five stars. Now, we will not be returning. Hopefully they go back to being good.
My favorite weekend breakfast place. I really come here to get the sourdough bread and her butter, the best I ever had. Everything is so delicious and fresh. The pastries are wonderful. There are outdoor terrace seats with shade and many interior seats with larger tables for large parties. The staff is always friendly and service is fast.
After a long, disappointing absence, I returned to Humble Bee last week hoping it would be as wonderful as I remembered. It absolutely was! The space is bigger and more comfortable, with excellent service. As for the food, I ordered my longtime favorite, the Panwich—a glorious combination of eggs and cheese wrapped in a pancake, topped with mascarpone and spiced apple shreds. I skipped the house-made turkey sausage, but my friend loved his. It’s the perfect balance of savory and sweet, soft and crunchy. My only regret is that this amazing dish doesn’t photograph well!
I had been eager to visit Humble Bee Cafe for some time, and I’m thrilled I finally made it. My server, Warren, was exceptional, and every team member I met was welcoming, which really added to the warm breakfast café atmosphere. I opted for the English Butty, and it was delicious. A quick warning—the habanero sauce is pretty spicy! I’ll definitely be recommending this spot to my friends and family.
