Out for a ride on the bike and ended up in Lions Head On. Stopped to get some lunch at Marydales. Had a great meal, met the new owners who have a lot of great plans for this restaurant including several new menu items ....Will need to come up again! View all feedback.
What Frédérique Muller doesn't like about Marydale's Family Restaurant:
Server told me my order for my family would be ready in 20 minutes, an hour later , still no food, when we finally got it, the order was wrong, the owner was extremely rude and didn’t even offer to get our order done properly....never..never...again, no thanks.. View all feedback.
The special was good the other three in our group didn't like their meals. Had hard time getting water. It probably OK for breakfast.
We come to Barrow Bay every year and when we pack up we always think that going out for breakfast would be great but the one place we knew of closed down. So we thought we would have to go to Wiarton. Then I read about Marydale's and I can't believe we've never been here before. It's small and kind of cramped but the food was excellent. We didn't have to wait for a table on a Sunday, which surprised me. I felt like I had made the food myself, it was exactly how I like my breakfast. There were 4 of us. Two had the Sunshine surprise, two eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. One had a Spanish omelette and my husband who was really hungry, couldn't resist the, "Really Hungry" breakfast. Three eggs, scrambled, bacon, sausages, a thick slice of ham, homefries and toast. He ate every morsel. The coffee was good and the breakfasts also included juice. Next year we may go to Marydale's for supper as well as last day breakfast.
My wife and I went for lunch. She ordered a burger and said it was very good. I had fish and chips, it was good. Portions are good and atmosphere is great. Loved the school kids art work on the menu covers. Service was friendly and quick even though they were busy.
We chose to try Marydale's restaurant in Lion's head on a Sunday afternoon. It looked like a nice place to get a meal that would suit the whole family. The inside is clean and well organized with mainly seating for 4's at tables. Service was prompt to get us drinks and menus, but after that it went downhill.Every order came slightly wrong - we try to be considerate and ask not to have things we won't eat, even if they're included. No one in our family likes coleslaw so we all asked for "without coleslaw" but it came with it anyway. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich without tomato that came also without mayo and I had to request it. The patty itself was paper thin, and when I picked it up hot oil ran out and burnt my finger. The burger was OK but I wouldn't order it again. The fries were fine - frozen bagged variety. The children enjoyed their meals (chicken fingers with fries or onion rings, but the portion of rings was very small) and my husband's bacon cheese burger was fine. He said it tasted like it was freshly prepared and not from frozen so that is a plus.Everything, however, is over priced. Additionally, our service ended with the serving of our meals, no check-ins or drink refills. Washrooms were 1-person-only. Men's was out of toilet paper, both were clean enough.
I found Marydale’s to be a warm and friendly place where the service was great and the food was served up with a smile. They had everything I like for breakfast, all cooked to perfection.
