Exceptional. Exquisite. Excellent. This is a hidden treasure in Bar Harbor, we're so glad our host told us about this place! The view was remarkable, the food was delicious, the front desk was super friendly and the ambience was elegant. We had the Maple Crusted Salmon, the Tomato bisque and the popovers. It was a party in our mouths. We were sharing and the server actually had the fish plated individually for us, wh... View all feedback.
What Barbara Kohler doesn't like about Asticou:
Did not stay at hotel but it seems to need upgraded a bit. We stopped to eat a late lunch. Food was just ok and a bit overpriced. Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet View all feedback.
After hiking on the Bald Peak Trail we were looking for a place to eat in the last second. Although they had no reservations, we decided to visit anyway. From the bat we sat directly on the windows overlooking the water. Our server was very attentive and the pop-over, artichoke dip, lobster soup, lobster gnocchi and, to complete it, everything from the blueberry crumb was extraordinary. In any case, it's worth coming over.
Excellent restaurant with magnificent views. Soups and lobsters were delicious as well as the popovers. Has not noticed that the service was slow, as noted by some reviewers. Normal serving time and very nice staff.
This historic building offers a fantastic view of the port, outdoor seating and charm. Chowder was excellent, popovers are excellent with strawberry jam and butter, the lobster roll was fresh, but not my favorite entree. A beautiful place for lunch.
This is a neat historical Hotel/Restaurant. We went here for an anniversary dinner while we were in Maine. The food was great the view was awesome, and the food was fantastic. I would definitely go back.
We loved it. The lobster roll was light on mayo and heavy on lobster.
