Nice place close to London with all feel of country side. Lake and walks are nice. 20 minutes gentle walk to castle is great. Suite rooms are very well made and furnished with garden and privacy. Main building is a bit formal. Nice formal full English breakfast. View all feedback.

Wonderful hotel we were lucky enough to be upgraded in a wonderful suite. Staff so polite and helpful, food in the restaurant very well cooked, compliments to the chef. Simon our waiter could not have been more conscious 5 stars
Stayed here with a couple of friends after a day at the races, it was probably the hottest day of the year. Like a lot of old hotels in the UK they could have done with some air con. The hotel itself was a very grand Victorian building, there was a wedding the day before we went and I think this would make a great wedding venue. The staff were really nice and helpful. The room was clean and huge! I would definitely recommend the hotel. I will be coming back with a friend for a few games of golf and will definitely stay here again after the races.
We went on a Travelzoo offer. The grounds are wonderful and we had the executive lakeside view rooms which were excellent. Parts of the hotel are looking a little tired but given the financial impact on hospitality during COVID one can understand and it did not detract from our experience. The staff were exceptional in the service they offered, being at all times courteous and efficient. They genuinely cared. The food in the restaurant was good and great value. Our suggestions for improvement would be to open up the more comfortable hotel guests bar as soon as circumstances allow rather than having to use the same busy bar as golfers. It would also be good to widen/vary the breakfast selection for those who would prefer an an alternative to the full English fry. These are small observations and I cannot stress what a great stay we had and with something comparable to the Travelzoo offer we'd be back in a flash.
We had an enjoyable stay here for 2 nights. The staff are super! The welcome and smile from all we met with from night staff, day staff, restaurant staff, room staff and security was perfect. Each and every staff member we came across was approachable, friendly, courteous, and quite frankly rare nowadays, especially as we weren't club patrons. The driveway and building is impressive. The food is good and served very professionally. Our room was a triple and a little dated. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were warm. The shower was powerful but the heat of it was unpredictable. They did not have a fridge in the room, but everything else was there as expected. We used this hotel for the air show. It was a good solid base half an hour from the show or from the Swindon park ride. We didn't get to use the pool and spa facilities but they looked very nice. We enjoyed our stay here and would like to thank the staff for an enjoyable flying visit. Much much better and cheaper than a main stream franchise, and definitely a good base for those wanting to explore this very beautiful area during the day with a tranquil atmosphere for relaxation.
