This was my second time visiting this location and most likely i would not go back. The service is great. The staff there who took my order and handed it off to be was great. Looks like they're just starting, so I'm curious as an early-in-law. I tend to judge sushi places by their “chirashi don” to a taste of their rice and sashimi, and that is the first I had in a rectangular box. the sashimi was fresh, not as good as taros, but rather a little better than sushi bong/VIPs. the same can be said by rice, but extremely flatter. almost more radiant than rice. $17.99 for this chirashi was a little expensive but understandable. Eat: 3.5 I wanted to give this a 1 star, although for the layout of the sushi restaurant, in the middle between machi machi blase tee and the Chinese food business. felt extremely exposed to the elements and was made worse by chatting with the cook while drinking bbt, pulling in and extracting his mask. was completely unacceptable and felt so unhygienic. Please note the plexiglass barrier for food! so completely inconspicuous. I don't give it a star because it's new and wants to give it a chance, but in the afterth I should have just walked out and refuse to pay for what I saw, especially in the midst of a pandemic.

I would have given this restaurant a 1-star rating due to the layout, situated between Machi Machi bubble tea and the Chinese food store. I felt too exposed to the elements, especially with someone chatting with the chef while drinking bubble tea and constantly taking off his mask. This was unacceptable and unhygienic. I strongly suggest installing plexiglass barriers in the food preparation area to improve hygiene. I did not give this restaurant a 1-star rating only because it is new, and I wanted to give it a chance. However, in hindsight, I should have walked out and refused to pay, especially considering the current pandemic situation.
This sushi spot kept popping up all over social media and so we finally decided to give it a try. This location is within the Upper East market with Machi Machi among others) at the back. We ordered the Tasting Box bento and the Mix8 bento which is the same apart from the handrolls in the Tasting Box. They come with the 8 top seller aburi pieces, edamame, and a spicy seaweed salad. The handrolls in the Tasting Box was filled with toro and lobster respectively. In my honest opinion, the sushi was mediocre and some of the flavour profiles seemed too similar despite them marketing the unique and distinct flavours. The rice is slightly torched so it's a bit crunchier than usual which is an interesting change. There were maybe only 3 pieces that stood out as really tasty. The handrolls had an initially very confusing packaging/wrapper that prevented the seaweed from getting soggy. The instructions on the wrapper were Japanese but luckily the diagram was helpful. Essentially you need to unroll the handroll, rip open the plastic at the slit, then reroll it. The edamame and seaweed salad were great and complimented the box well. Would've been nice to have a drink or a miso soup to cleanse palatte beyond ginger). The packaging makes it a nice takeout option to eat anywhere. However the angle of the box made picking up some aburi pieces difficult when they were packed close together. Additionally, they never called our order when it was ready and I had to ask 10 minutes later if it was ready and they grabbed it off the shelf. This interaction rubbed me the wrong way since even fast food chains call out orders when they are ready. Overall, it was a bit of an underwhelming experience and too pricey $50 for 2) for what was provided. In the future if I wanted aburi sushi I'd go to Project Fish down the street.
