What Ng Fam likes about Sun Star Chinese Cuisine:
The wok dishes at this restaurant are decent and offer good value for money. The flavors are good overall, although some dishes are better than others. For example, the deep fried silver fish was a little rubbery and had a heavy batter, while the stir-fried noodles and fried rice were tasty. I will definitely return for more in the future. We had a reservation for a table of 6 at 8:00 pm on Friday. They accepted our reservation, but informed us that the restaurant closed at 9:00 pm. To save time, we ordered their combo for 6, which included Crab meat and fish maw soup (very tasty), Steamed half chicken (not bad), Abalone mushroom with baby bok choy (ok, but lacking in flavor), Fried honey chili with beef tenderloin (just okay), Twin lobster with ginger... read moreA restaurant in Toronto offers a decent dining experience with a mixed bag of dishes. The combo for 6 includes some hits like Crab meat and fish maw soup, while others like Fried honey chili with beef tenderloin fall short. Prices are reasonable, and the décor is reminiscent of a Hong Kong eatery. The staff is accommodating, but the food quality has been inconsistent since before Covid. Some dishes, like stir-fried noodles and fried rice, are tasty but others, like sweet and sour pork, are too sweet. Overall, it's a good option for those who aren't too picky and want value for money.
