While it wasn't anything extraordinary, the comfort Asian food we had was quite good and came in generous portions. We ordered a combo dish and were initially concerned that it wouldn't be enough, but by the end of the meal, we were all quite full. However, the highlight of my experience was when one of my friends let me try their separately ordered rice dish, which ended up being my favorite. I would definitely reco... View all feedback.
What Clam doesn't like about Shanghai Chinese:
Pretty okay Korean Chinese food. The tangsuyuk was pretty good but the jajangmyeon was a little bland. It was missing that smoky wok hei. Portions were pretty large though. View all feedback.
Ordered combo A. There was plenty of food for 2. I would have to say it's one of the best Korean style Chinese food I've had. Noodles were chewy, sauce was on point, and the sweet and sour pork was fried nicely.
TBH, I thought this restaurant was a chinese fusion korean restaurant, so i never gave it a chance since there are so many other authentic korean restaurants on young and finch. BUT! Lesson learnt! Never judge a book by its cover! This place is opened for 10 years and sells one of the most AUTHENTIC JAJANG Myeon in the area Jajangmyeon (black bean noodle 5/5 noodles perfect texture, and the sauce toppings are super flavourful. Juicy saucey Kimchi Fried Rice 4.5/5 taste like homey fried rice (like what my mom makes , kimchi spacy, but perfect balance with the fried rice, since its less salty than expected. But love the egg, usually the ones we get are sunny side up, but this place comes in scrambled plus leek. LOVE LEEK EGG Overall great food! Great service! Would come back to for the jajangmyeong and try their fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce (a HOT item of the store
Too much North American style Korean food. Everything is sweet sour, deep fried.
My wife and I sat and ate lunch at this restaurant we ordered noodle seafood, black bean sauce dish. The food came to our table and it was noodle with 4 little tiny shrimp with little bits of cut up squid you could hardly see. Basically it was noodle with lots of cooked onion and some slop they call black bean sauce. As we were driving away, we were both saying how are they still in business? Who eats here. All the way home we were sick to our stomach. Really really bad. This was not food.Don’t go !!!!
Very small portions and poor food quality. Jjambbong had only 3 mussels, 4 tiny shrimp, and nothing else. There were only a few pieces of chicken in Kkanpunggi. It’s disheartening to see the quality of the food decline over time at this store.
