I am Salvadorian and obe of our favorite dishes are the famous pupusas. Got the address for this place and we went over the weekend, I couldn't be happier I did...Like eating home made pupusas, price was I guess okay, they were delicious! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Guanaquita:
This is the worst pupusa I have ever eaten, they were thick and burnt. My friend's fish soup was inedible, with lots of imitation crab meat. The tamarind juice had a strange taste. The food was all left on the table and we still had to pay for it. View all feedback.

Small place, but excellent service. We didn't have to wait for too long to get our food. The best pupusas ever! And the pastelitos de piña were delicious! We order breakfast that came with yellow plantains and sour cream; as well as pupusas, everything tasted very good.
This no-frills restaurant is tucked in a strip mall between a supermarket, a Pho soup spot and a nail salon but is well worth scouting down if you love Latin American cuisine. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Saturday and were a bit worried we might not get a table as the place was packed with people. But the server quickly found us seats and was back to take our order in a flash. We ordered pupusas with beans and cheese as well as cheese and loroco ( a flowering vine that's not often seen in Toronto) as appetizers followed by caldo de res soup and carne asado. The food arrived quickly and was both hot and delicious. Portions were enormous and the grilled beef came with handmade corn tortillas, refried beans, a chunk of white cheese, a huge salad with avocado as well as Spanish rice and caramelized plantain. Our drinks were housemade horchata and agua de Jamaica. We couldn't actually finish it all and the waitress kindly packed it up for us to go. This place is spotless, the service is excellent and although it's no frills in terms of decor, it is very tidy, has friendly staff and is deservedly very popular among locals. Highly recommended if you're looking for authentic traditional Salvadoran ( or Guatemalan) cuisine in Toronto.
Two of us went today Sunday around 6:30p to order some takeaway.
