Really enjoy going to Toby's. Central location, with enough parking (thats free, big deal these days)! It's licensed so theres the usual drinks. They have a large menu, with better choices than most. Delicious food, large portions. Try the Buffalo chicken burger, it's so yum! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Toby's North Shore:
We had dinner here one night that we were in North Vancouver. My husband ordered the chili and loved it! It was plenty hearty enough for an entire meal. The waitress was attentive. View all feedback.
My partner and I, along with two other couples, have been regulars at Tobys since it opened in this location. We have dined here both together and separately, about twelve times in the past few months. Unfortunately, we have found the menu to be very limited, with few options for those with celiac disease. We were disappointed to discover that they have removed their gluten-free fries, which we preferred over the regular ones. The lack of pizza and the fried chicken sandwich that had to be sent back due to being overcooked and tough, were further letdowns. The French onion soup was tasteless, and the battered French fries did not appeal to our group. Even the bacon was overcooked to the point where it flew off the plate with a touch. While we understand the price increase, it seems like we may have to start looking for another dining spot. The wait staff, who are long-time employees, continue to provide excellent service, but unfortunately, the food being served does not meet our expectations.
Just went to Toby Pub and Grill for lunch. While waiting for my car to get repaired at Matt automotive repair. Cheyenne was my waitress, she was excellent. Did everything a waitress should do. The food, I had dry ribs to start. They were the best I have had in a year, Cream of Mushroom Soup homemade) so creamy and full of mushrooms every bite), and the Toby burger- cooked to perfection, hand made beef patty, perfectly cooked bacon, and a fresh toasted bun. Such an enjoyable lunch, will definitely go back.
Went to Toby's for breakfast last Sunday and lunch on Wednesday. Both times we had Sarah M. as our server. Did a great job both times. Sunday's breakfast was early and we took our time which was nice. The French toast was outstanding. On Wednesday the restaurant was slammed as the soccer game was on but Sarah made the wait for lunch really tolerable. We had out of town guests and she did a great job looking after all of us. Try the dry ribs they're especially good.
We have been to this Toby’s dozens of times since it opened and until yesterday, never ordered their freshly baked brick oven pizza. They only offer two varieties. The vegetarian was pesto, goat cheese, mozzarella ,artichokes and red pepper, and the Carnivore, pepperoni, ham, chorizo, tomato sauce and mozzarella both were topped with grated grana padano. We devoured both pizzas, lovely crisp brown crust and loads of toppings, probably the best pizza I’ve had in years. We will be back to reorder soon!
There was no communication about the menu. It would be helpful if we were informed if a dish is discontinued instead of leaving us wondering if it is still coming.
