Contribute FeedbackThe Village Hotel restaurant received mixed reviews, with some diners enjoying the food while others found it lacking. The change from a carvery to a set menu was disappointing for some. The atmosphere was praised as being welcoming and pleasant. Highlights included the Village burger and the attentive staff. Overall, the Sunday lunch was deemed a good value, especially with deals like buy one get one free. Some guests were very impressed with the outstanding service, personalized desserts, and complimentary drinks. Despite some mixed feedback, many diners expressed a desire to return to The Village Hotel restaurant.
Lovely new refurbished restaurant, excellent friendly and helpful staff, in particular Katie and Charleen, helping cater for our food intolerances. Highly recommended.
This restaurant has been turned into a horrible tacky sports bar. Keep well away, We often ate there or in the bar area. Over the last few months they have knocked walls through and made it into a American style tacky bar/resturant if you could call it that. Locals who often went there are all complaining at the change and how it has been spoilt. The tacky sports bar now attracts the wrong people unfortunately.
The place is always empty and that's for a very good reason: it's overpriced. As an example, a main with a side plus a dessert cost me £25.50. And I didn't go for the most expensive options! The food is not bad, but the options are very limited. I had to eat there during a whole week and I got tired of it. I ordered pasta dishes in three different occasions and they pretty much had the same taste. I only tried one of the starters and it was very good. The three sides I tried were very bland. But the deserts were tasty. Moreover, there are almost no options for vegetarians which is quite surprising at this age and in this country. A positive thing are the waiters, which are very young people who really try their best to be friendly and offer a good service, even though they aren't exactly the most experienced. In short, do not go there unless someone else pays for the meal.
Buca restaurant is located with the Village Hotel and I must say how impressed I was by great service and the food, everything was very tasty and you can have 3 course meal for £15.
We ate in here while staying at The Village Hotel...nice menu although a little on the pricey side...service ok....would recommend the skewers..very tasty.
