We were really looking forward to trying Puro with Tommy Thorn, however we were disappointed. The portion sizes were minuscule, although the taste of the starter and dessert were excellent, My main was lukewarm, fine for my husband who doesn’t like his food hot. Underground sense of gloom, plain decor with little or no atmosphere. Food ok, what there was of it..such mean portions and a main without even a smattering of carbs does not really constitute a satisfying meal.. no dis to the paleos. For all that overpriced, especially the wine. Very dissapointing experience.
We had a wonderfully relaxed evening here with friends we'd not seen for a while. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. We were not rushed, and were well looked after. I'd recommend to anyone.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. The food is incredibly tasty and the staff are very friendly. I would dine here more frequently if it weren't for the fact that I live quite a distance away. I highly recommend this place.
I highly recommend Puro. If you're seeking the best dining experience in Clevedon, this is the place to go. The food is exceptional - you must try it to believe it. The chefs are amazing, and the staff take care of your every need, ensuring a wonderful experience. The restaurant's interior and exterior are both beautiful.
We booked a table for Thursday night, so it was relatively quite. The service was very good with a new floor manager keeping us fed and watered. The starter we chose was mussels and scallops which were both beautifully cooked . The mussel sauce with chorizo and cream was good enough to eat as a soup! The main dishes were hake and steak, again, very well cooked. The steak is 'twice cooked ', seared at very high temperature then left until required to be cooked to the right level. This seems to give the steak a caramelized almost crunchy covering. Genius idea and very good to eat. We chatted to the charming owner and discussed the wine we chose. While I realise it was a quite night and a busier night may produce different results we both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at what we consider to be the best place in town!
