I've said this a lot of times now, but I'm a local around the Macquarie area, and funnily enough, I had never tried Ivory Thai. Bumping into an old high school acquaintance on the bus home from uni, we decided to catch up, and this place stood out on Cox's Rd. Pretty laidback atmosphere, average service, got to choose whatever seat we wanted.<br/ <br/ Ordered the standard chicken pad thai $15 was a bit pricey), but the serving was definitely a lot bigger than I thought. Taste was ok, nothing amazing, and the same with my friend, who ordered the tom yum thai fried $15). Big serving too, very spice heavy, but did the job making you full. Definitely a good place to talk, noticed a lot of people get takeaway.<br/ <br/ Funnily, one customer complained about being served the wrong dish for takeaway whilst I was dining before storming off. He got quite heated, but the staff remained composed and not phased by it which is a credit to them). Overall, still a decent place to check out for locals!
We ordered delivery and we must say this is one of the most delicious Thai delivery we've ever had. There's not one dish we can fault. The prawn spring rolls and fresh rolls were divine.
This was where I fell in love with Pad Prik Pking sauce. Tired of classic curry and stir fry dishes, I tried Prik Pking for the first time, it was a marriage made in heaven between the chilli, fish sauce and palm sugar. It was good with any seafood or meat. They offered really good value lunch time special for $10. The massaman curry was one of the best I tried. The sauce was perfectly rich and creamy. The only catch for lunch was the servicing was on the small side, but it was under $10 after all. It was a great spot to get quality Thai food at bargain price!
