Was Anonym at Emperor's Table a mag?
Excellent restaurant for Yum Cha. Fantastic selection of food, excellent service and friendly staff. My favourite dish being the mango pancakes for dessert, simply yum! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Emperor's Table:
Yum Cha used to be affordable but my visit today was a huge shock! The Breakdown consisted of Chinese tea $2.00 per person. The 4 x Medium Yum Cha Dishes were $7.80 for each dish. This was spring rolls, sticky rice, chicken feet, and pork dim sum. Then the killer was the prawn dumpling serving at $9.80 each dish (8 prawns in pastry) and fried calamari - also at $9.80. Definitely won't be this venue again any time soo... View all feedback.

Went there todayOrdered a few dishes - some as pricey as a whole takeaway main! 1)Calamari - very very oily sloppy and cold2)Spring rolls - not too bad3)Pork dumpings - pastry tasted like 1 inch thick, dont even know if it was pork! 4)Green beans and mince - nice 5)Pork Belly - not too bad, not overly crispy. 6)2 normal teas.Guess what this cost!???? $80! We were charged something called a "cover charge" - when we asked what that was, it was for "the sauces - soy and chilli) OMG one we didnt ask for them, two where have you ever had to pay for soy sauce!?????? Overall utterly disappointed with the prices, the taste, the sneaky pricing, for what we ate I was so angry with myself for wasting so much money on nothing. Even a McDonalds feast would have been tastier and cheaper lol.
What a disappointment - the mango pancakes were the highlight of the evening, long beans and mince very good but the staff were conspicuous by their lack of attention, we could have been invisible, waited quite a while after we had ordered for our selections- had to request water, ordered tea when we arrived ,however no-one came back to see if we wanted wine. Restaurant was not very busy but we had difficulty attracting staff to fulfil our requests, very noisy - be aware of the surcharge when using a credit card- will think long and hard before coming back.
We used to come here all the time and really enjoyed it, and were sad when it closed for renovations.Coming back for the first time since the renovations, we found new (and expensive looking) decor. I didn't think it needed that much of a change. The biggest surprises were the rude staff and the high prices. The guy looking after our table had to be reminded 3 times for every request (water, forks for the kids, etc). What used to cost us about $60 for the 4 of us was now $108. Outrageous. We won't be back.We will be going to the Marigold in the city for a better experience and cheaper prices!!

We enjoyed dining at The Emperor's Table after the Sydney Swans game on Saturday night. I can confidently say it was the best Chinese meal I have ever had. The service was fantastic as well. Our friends who dined with us also agreed and we even complimented the head waiter on the great meal and service. It seems like the negative reviews may have been mistaken for another restaurant because our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back after the Swans play Richmond on August 30th.
Surprised at the couple of bad reviews.. I've been eating here close to ten years and it's great. Up there with the best yum cha in sydney, and I've been to a lot of them. My only criticism is it's expensive compared to other restaurants, seems to me about 25% more. But the prawn and chive spring rolls are so good, it's worth it.
Located away from the busy city and shopping centers, this yumcha restaurant at North Ryde RSL is a hidden gem among locals. With a diverse mix of clientele, you can be sure that the food is going to be delicious. They offer classic dishes like siu mai, har gau, and a variety of cheungfun that are loved by all. For vegetarians, there are options like fried noodles in dark soy sauce, za leung, and vegetarian beancurd rolls, as well as a limited selection of vegetarian steamed dumplings. The desserts here are so popular that by 2pm, the favorite mango pancake rolls were already sold out. Personally, my favorite dessert is the egg custard lava tarts (be careful, they are hot and can be messy for newcomers so take your time), as well as the egg tarts.
I have to say that the food at this restaurant is top-notch. They always have a great variety of yum cha dishes and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I have been coming here for 8 years and I always leave feeling happy and satisfied with the quality and portion size of the food. The only downside is that the prices have gone up, so we don't come as often as we used to.

The best yum Cha north of the bridge. While the surroundings are tired and the venue so daggy it's hip again (an RSL? Really? the welcome you receive is...
