Will's Plaice - North Norfolk

We were really excited about fish and chips after we were on the beach all day and after we had waited 25 minutes, we were disappointed to find the chips fat and undercooked and the diligent on the fish much too thick and soggy. The homemade tartaric acid... sauce was nice but not for the pretty poor fish and chips. I wouldn't go back.

The restaurant serves generously sized portions at an affordable price. The fish is boiled to perfection and the staff is lovely. However, be prepared to wait as the restaurant is very popular and busy.

As soon as I saw the line outside the restaurant, I had a feeling it was going to be special. Despite being in the midst of covid restrictions, there were people patiently waiting at a safe distance. After nearly an hour, I finally made it to the front of the queue and entered the heavenly aroma. I decided to order a simple dish of cod and chips with homemade tartare sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked, with crispy batter and tender, flaky flesh. The chips were golden and fluffy, and the homemade tartare sauce added the perfect finishing touch. I usually can't finish a whole portion, but I savored every bite in the charming atmosphere of a summer evening in East Runton. It was definitely worth the wait!
