Contribute FeedbackVera's Cafe has garnered a mixed bag of reviews, showcasing its charm and challenges. Many diners admire the homemade, delicious food, with standout dishes like the Sunday roast and mushroom risotto highly praised. The welcoming staff enhance the experience, though some guests noted issues with service and booking policies. Despite the cafe's lovely ambiance and popularity, there are concerns over inconsistent communication, particularly regarding pre-booking recommendations. Customers appreciate the outdoor seating on sunny days but express disappointment over dog-friendly signage and the handling of their pets. Overall, Vera's Cafe remains a beloved spot, but visitors are advised to plan ahead to avoid potential hassles.
We visited this restaurant for the first time today. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was first class (the breakfast was the best we have ever had). We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.
The restaurant is extremely clean with a visible kitchen that is clearly well-maintained and organized. The fish with crispy batter and fresh vegetables were delicious, as well as the tasty quiche. The tea was perfect and it seemed like they used a water filter as there was no sign of hardness. The presence of many locals is always a good indicator of a great restaurant. Highly recommended.
Another wonderful evening at Vera's. The steak was the best I've ever had, and the service was excellent as always. Will definitely be going again.
Have often driven past while on holiday, today we decided to pay a visit to Vera’s Cafe. The cafe looked very nice and was reasonably busy. You have to wait to be seated. There were tables available, but we were asked if we had pre-booked. To which we replied we had not. We were then advised that they did not have any tables inside available as they were all booked, but we could sit outside. Even though it was a nice day there was a bit of a chilly air to it. We chose not to do this ad did the couple behind us who walked out with us. I have checked your website again and nowhere does it advise pre-booking is advisable. Needless to say we will not bother again. But if you do decide to visit I suggest booking a table first. So you are not disappointed. Would be an idea if you yourselves Vera’s Cafe stated this on your Website.
On arrival we got told we could sit where ever which was fine then had our order taken when our drinks came the cup with the tea was dirty so got that changed then our breakfasts came and they had got one of the orders wrong which they changed but to be honest the staff were grumpy and didn’t seem to care about customer service. We could fault the food that was at a high standard but probably wouldn’t rush back!
