Starfish Tea Shop - North Norfolk

Yesterday, four of us went to this restaurant for lunch. The food was just okay, nothing particularly impressive. Some of the lettuce was wilted and a few leaves were inedible. The welcome we received upon arriving was lackluster, especially since there was only one other person in the restaurant. The restroom facilities were subpar; they were dirty and the toilet seat was broken. In my opinion, there is no justification for not fixing it. We will opt for a different restaurant when we visit Sheringham next time.

Really enjoyed scones. Decor was lovely as was the service. Semed to be a favoured meeting place judging by the number of people who popped in chatted to other customers.

Popped in to warm up with coffee, tea and scones. Lovely cafe, fab scones. I had the cheese herb, husband had tea cake.

Went in yesterday with two of my sons and one of my daughters. It was supposed to be a treat paid for by my student son. One of my sons ordered a bacon sandwich; well the bread was as thin as a rice cake and the sandwich looked very sad and unappealing; i had a scone which was doughy, hardly any sultanas and stuck to your mouth whilst you were trying to chew it. my daughter was served a burnt jacket potato, which i would not have even served to my dog! The salad that came with it had seen better times too! The waitress looked like she didn't want to be there; she looked like she had just got out of bed with a headache. No smiles; nothing personable about her. The atmosphere there was nil to be honest. Nothing to tempt us to go back. The reason i didn't complain was it was a treat from my son, and i didn't want to upset him. An old lady on a table close by to us was also served a burnt jacket potato, and she did complain. They took it away, warmed it up and gave it back to her. We are locals, have been for 26 years. first time we have been in this cafe and im afraid, we will not be back!!

Absolutely awful service. the staff have no idea what they’re doing. quite rude and just ignored customers with their back turned to them! food was burnt and disgusting. only nice thing was the fizzy drink and that came in a can! the “cafe” was FREEZING and the door doesn’t shut properly! 1/5 would not recommend or go again.
