Absolutely cannot fault any of the food, breakfast or evening meal. It must be so much more complicated due to the COVID restricti... View all feedback.
What taylorsreview doesn't like about Cley Windmill:
Staying in Cley, so decided to have a 'special ' meal at the windmill. Staff very friendly when we went to book. Advised to have an early booking and arrive early to get the only window seat (owners told us to do this as it was a 'first come, first served ' policy . Arrived early, only us in reception. Window seat had been 'reserved ' (even though owners told us you couldn 't do this!! . View all feedback.
What a great find. Fixed price and set menu with only a few covers, so very unusual. The food was superb as was the service. Able to buy a half bottle of champagne which is very unusual. We had lobster thermidor as the main course, great flavour and a great treat.
Came in for the fixed menu had great expectations as had read good revues. Starter good but main not impressed lumpy mashed potato pork belly fatty no crispy skin. Overpriced !!!
We had a fantastic return visit here. Great service, lovely food. Up to the standard that we have come to enjoy. Many thanks.
This is a stunning venue, very cosy and intimate. I imagine the views are spectacular; we’ll certainly be going back in the daytime. It’s a set, three-course, menu which changes daily and is published well in advance on their website. The kitchen will try to accommodate changes if necessary, on our visit a diner was offered salmon as an alternative to steak. The food is classy, well presented, excellent quality and portions just right and accompanied with a good wine list.Service was warm, attentive and prompt.Excellent value for money. The dining room is warm and cosy but, for me, just a little too cramped. It would be impossible to have a conversation without being overheard, except for one table that seemed to be tucked away in an alcove. The quality of your dining experience may depend on the quality of your neighbours – in our case they were charming, but it could be a bit of a lottery. That wouldn’t put me off though and I’d strongly recommend this restaurant.
Arrived to a log fire and Sherry, before going in to for the meal which was shell on tiger prawns with dip and chilli source,Confit duck leg and creamed cleric crisp pancetta and poet jus, Apple Tait Tatin with clotted cream and it was lovely melt in the mouth food. only one sitting so no hurry to finish.going again this month
