While the menu features traditional pub favorites like burgers and fish and chips, diners have voiced mixed reviews, with some praising the generous portions and enticing gluten-free options, while others found the dishes lacking creativity. The staff are noted for their friendly service, though the atmosphere can be quiet and understated. With a lovely beer garden and dog-friendly policies, this pub serves as a delightful spot for casual dining or special occasions, making it a local jewel worth visiting for a memorable experience.
Really good selection of gluten-free choices for beginners, main and deserts. Eat here regularly and always have a fantastic meal. Beautiful old pub in small village. Very recommended
First time in The Royal Oak, the very good menu was excellent My wife, the gluten-free was excellent meal very helpful staff and we will return
What a little gem this place is. I usually steer clear of countryside/village pubs because most often have limited gluten free options but I was so impressed by the offerings here! Pictured are the GF fish and chips and GF Royal Oak burger, both of which were incredible. There were also a lot of other options available which I'll be trying on my next visit. Also dog friendly, super knowledgeable staff and overall a brilliant experience. Will definitely be visiting again!
Very good food. Steak pie is amazing. Sitting outside is very noisy though next to a surprisingly busy road.
Absolutely great Sunday roasts, the staff made our visit to each of them on point and above all a very funny , we will be back and recommend,
