The Great Barrier Reef - North Kesteven

Good size portions, especially scampi and chips! Pleasant staff. Recently visited The Mermaid Fish n’ Chip shop in Horncastle, which used to have a good reputation. But that one has nothing on TGBR in Metheringham. .

We often order from this place, but we also like Sunny's and Kelly's Catch. Despite what others may say, this chippy is excellent with great service and incredibly fresh fish. We would say it's just as good as Sunny's, which is also fantastic.

We are from Nocton and have been frequenting this chip shop for quite some time now, after trying out many others in the area. The quality of food, portion sizes, customer service, and value for money here are unmatched. We even visited the Lake District over the summer expecting to have the best fish and chips, but we found ourselves comparing it to the Great Barrier Reef in Meg! We highly recommend this place.

I have visited here twice in July and both times food was cooked fresh and tasted good. New potatoes are also being fried at present. Some people seem to be ignoring the Covid 19 rules and notices put up by the business. Would have scored 5 stars but due to the Covid 19 lack of respect by some customers I have scored this a 4.

As our usual chippy is closed due to a fire, so we had to look elsewhere.This place is 12 miles from us but is well worth the journey! The cod chips were delicious, my sister in law couldn’t believe the prices that she paid for her meal! Will definitely be back!
