Fisher's Pier 4 Pub & Grub

Great service and I've never had a bad meal here! Live music on the Last Friday of every month! Great North end neighborhood bar, truly a Hamilton staple.

Got food poisoning from a buffalo chicken wrap eaten. Got so sick that night. Weren't allowed to push a few tables together to be in a group on the patio. Their excuse was because of fire safety. Yet there isnt an emergency exit on the patio. Not one. You had to go into the restaurant to walk around to go back outside. Not very safe. If anything people would have more room to move on the patio if table were actually put together. Not planning on ever returning here. Patio is not wheelchair accessible.

We like this place and it is popular in the neighbourhood. The food is certainly acceptable pub food but nothing great. Food is kind of pricey for what it is. We normally get fish and chips or fisherman’s platter. Service is pleasant and reasonably attentive. Cocktails are very reasonably priced but a little watered down and not sophisticated. (For instance they use packaged cocktail mixes for things like long island iced tea, rather than making a genuine long island iced tea, which is normally a boozy drink made with cola and 3 or 4 different boozes. I am usually shocked by the bill considering the unsophisticated and mundane fare. That said we like the pub atmosphere and it is in our neighbourhood so we still go every several months or so. Last time we went there we ordered two fish and chip meals, a fishermans platter and 3 cocktails and the bill came to $100+ before the tip. So like very pricey for what it is actually.

Aug 4 2023 had the fisherman's platter at $24. No way this is worth that. I think the fish was so small it looked like an eel. Some fries, three shrimp and three scallop. This dish is probably worth $15 tops. Wont be back.

The food here was great! Also, our waitress Karen was very kind and helped us find a mechanic to fix our car which had had a flat tire during our travels. Would definitely recommend this place!
