This place is a hidden gem. Although the menu is not extensive, making a choice can be difficult due to the delicious options available. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The food is definitely worth the wait. View all feedback.
What holmandr doesn't like about The White Bear:
I made arrangements to meet someone at the White Bear but when I arrived it was closed so I parked at the top of the drive to wait for them to make other arrangements. After a while the owner came out shouting abuse at me and swearing. Not giving me chance to explain I told him that was no way to talk to anyone to which he replied with a load of foul language .I asked who did he think he was talking to to which he told... 1st time visit for quite a while but the food and service is still 1st class. Perfect communication when booking on line and upon arriving were welcomed by friendly helpful staff. The menu had to much choice but decided upon the Haggis Scotch Eggs, Lamb cooked two ways rack of Lamb and Shepherds Pie and Cheese board to finish. Maria had Pate, Salmon in a Lobster and Prawn Sauce and Dark Chocolate and Orange Bread and Butter pudding. The atmosphere was great everyone having a great evening and it is a little gem that is worth the money. Had a lovely chat with the owner and it was lovely not to be rushed just taking time to enjoy everything about this lovely restaurant.
What a fantastic night we had,the food was amazing, could not fault at all. The staff were very helpful, happy and talkative. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Definitely worth going if your looking for something a little special
Delicious food, nice and attentive staff, warm atmosphere, all in all a very nice evening. Portions were very generous with much appreciated vegs on the side for the main. Please note this restaurant describes itself as ‘adult dining’ so no children menu or half portions. Not necessarily an issue if your children are on their best behaviour and old enough to get full portions.
