Called for a pint while we was out walking yesterday, the steps they have put in place to make it Covid safe are fabulous. Very Very impressed. I cant wait until they start doing food again. View all feedback.
What John Housley doesn't like about Arkwright Arms:
This pub is lovely with a great variety of beers (no Guinness though). I tried the jam roly poly, which was delicious, but my only complaint is that they were a bit skimpy with the custard. Overall, I would give it 5 stars. View all feedback.
We stayed one night in motorhome agreed arrival between 7-8 with dogs. On arrival 6.50 told no food from 7pm. Had driven 5 hours so back to van beans on toast. In pup fir drinks before bed. Good night sleep but not sure we would be back. Landlady uncaring. Obv do not want the business. Lost our on £60 spend.
Our first time stopping here in our Motorhome, stayed for two nights, didn't need EHU so it was free to stay as long as you eat and drink in the pub, they do have EHU at £10, have an outside water tap. fairly flat carpark, no chocs needed. A bit of road noise during the day but is quiet at night. The pub has a huge selection of ciders, real ales and cask ales, we had a meal on both nights, the food was delicious, good portions, very friendly staff, nice and chatty. We don't have a dog but it is very dog friendly. We will definitely return.
Stopped in our Motorhome on the way up North on a trip. A great “find”; lovely clean interior; super staff welcome; friendly locals a smashing selection of well kept beers on offer -including gluten free options. A rarity. Dogs made to feel welcome too we enjoyed it so much we stopped off again on the way back home! It will definitely become a “go to” for us.
Stopped here (by arrangement with the lovely owners in our campervan as we were travelling down south and wanted to break the journey up could not have been made to feel more welcome! We were late arriving, and the kitchen was 5 minutes from shutting but John still very kindly took our order and made us some supper huge thanks for that! Kathy his wife is super nice and made us and our little dog feel really welcome, and all the locals were great to chat to our personal favourite being Keith the english bull terrier and his lovely owners! ; We will def be staying here again, many thanks to Kathy, John staff!
Been coming here for about a year since we moved into the area and do not have a bad word to say about the place. The staff are amazing, the food is fantastic and they have an extensive range of drinks available (including a wide range of low and no alcohol which is rare for independent pubs). Absolutely cannot fault the place!
