My family of fifteen, including grandchildren, went to this restaurant for hot chocolate and tray bakes. The lady who served us was incredibly kind and considerate. The hot chocolate was delicious, but unfortunately, the Christmas mulled drink (non-alcoholic) was very weak and tasteless. View all feedback.
What angeltobe doesn't like about Hillmount Bangor:
Shop has good selection of clothes, gifts, plants etc. Cafe is a nice area but it’s a cafe and food prices are too expensive for food served/quality of food eg shepherds pie and veg £9.95, chicken dinner £10.95. I could have gone to a lovely bar or restaurant and had similar from a lunch menu served to me in better surroundings for same price, maybe even less. Whole shop lacks atmosphere and could be great with some... View all feedback.

Garden centre is fines, cafe on a is overpriced and not a very pleasant experience. You're asked what you want to eat before you've seen the menu or are aware of your options. You then have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it, which in our case was a quiche, mince pie and chips. Quality was ok, but not good enough to bring us back. Hotel prices for school dinner experience. Don't forget to clear yourself a table before you sit down. If they do discounts for pensioners I might be back for lunch in 10 years.
The restaurant has gone downhill. Prices have gone up, the staff is rude, and there are unsupervised children running around. The toasted sandwich was tasty and there is plenty of parking space, but overall there is nothing to make us want to come back.
An excellent lunch choice of plain but tasty food. Self service but pleasant friendly staff. The food was hot and faultless and the price fair. Like all cafes in garden centres I believe the food to be virtually a ‘loss leader’ but well worth the visit.
Scones here are huge and I loved the cherry ones with plenty of cherries all through them until today! There was a cherry at the bottom on the outside which identified it but when I cut it open I discovered that was all there was just the one cherry on the outside of an entire very plain scone. I won't be rushing back.
