We had lunch here last week.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the cottage pie was amazing, best I have ever eaten. They were happy for my friend to order from the children's menu as he had had recent surgery and couldn't manage a full size meal. The food portions were very generous too. What Amber johnson doesn't like about Castle Inn:
They hadn't booked us in for our table id prebooked but luckily they weren't busy, considering this food was slow to arrive. Our meal was ok. A bit drab looking inside but it was fine, the fire was nice and cosy. Service: 3 Hotel highlights: Quiet View all feedback.
Beautiful, welcome, if we are calling for the off-ance, we may be able to eat. eating is good, unpretentious land pub tariff made with high quality local ingredients. service friendly and fast. I feel that we can make a special trip there again, as it was so pleasant.
A beautiful festive Christmas dinner, enjoyed by members of our local hiking group. good food, drink and service. many thanks, amanda, antonio and the rest of the team in the castle inn for all their hard work and take care of us.

A very pleasurable afternoon in a classic country pub with wonderful food....perfect!
Super nice pub B+B, and a super Breakfast! That sausage was outstanding and the bacon was definitely not from your local supermarket, we also had an evening meal and they waited for us to get back as we were a little bit late and the steak was out of this world, the only down side is that I wished they had some leaflets dotted around to see some of the local attractions just incase anyone was staying for longer, the view from the seating area was really nice and you could definitely loose yourself just looking out of the window or reading a book there, the room was super clean and well stocked with tea and coffee and a little bottle of milk in the fridge, a totally outstanding place! :
Five of us had dinner there on a Monday evening. There was a cosy fire. Locals enjoying a drink in the bar. It felt well used. Our food was well prepared and tasted good. Friendly staff. Reasonable wine list. Local draught beer. Typical pub fare, quite meat-based (3 types of steak) , veggie option could benefit from more pizzazz (I think it was mushroom risotto)
