We only stayed for one night but we absolutely loved this place! Rachel (I hope I got her name right) was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Her customer service was excellent. Amanda is not only a fantastic host but also a talented cook! She is very friendly and takes the time to chat with guests. The dinner we had was freshly prepared and delicious. For breakfast, we had a selection of fruits, cereals, and a cooked breakfast made to order, all of which were delicious. Our room was fantastic - spotlessly clean, with an extremely comfortable bed, and a luxurious shower. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a genuine, friendly pub experience. This place is a gem for anyone who appreciates a traditional, down to earth atmosphere.
During our stay at Woodland Retreats, we decided to take a stroll and ended up at this lovely pub. We were so glad we did! The pub is small but great, with a pool table, dart board, and a cozy restaurant. The rooms above the restaurant look fantastic for an overnight stay. The pub is dog-friendly and the bar staff were fantastic. If we didn't already have plans, we probably would have eaten dinner here and enjoyed more drinks. Definitely worth a visit. Service: 5/5.
The frozen food was disappointing, overpriced, and the pints were poor quality. Overall, I was not impressed. The service and location both received a rating of 3.
We had lunch here last week.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the cottage pie was amazing, best I have ever eaten. They were happy for my friend to order from the children's menu as he had had recent surgery and couldn't manage a full size meal. The food portions were very generous too. The staff helped us move to another table closer to a radiator when my friend felt cold. I think the food is excellent value for money, I would have been happy to pay more. A very pleasurable afternoon in a classic country pub with wonderful food....perfect!
Super nice pub B+B, and a super Breakfast! That sausage was outstanding and the bacon was definitely not from your local supermarket, we also had an evening meal and they waited for us to get back as we were a little bit late and the steak was out of this world, the only down side is that I wished they had some leaflets dotted around to see some of the local attractions just incase anyone was staying for longer, the view from the seating area was really nice and you could definitely loose yourself just looking out of the window or reading a book there, the room was super clean and well stocked with tea and coffee and a little bottle of milk in the fridge, a totally outstanding place! :
