Champney's
Description
At this restaurant, experiences vary significantly. While guests rave about the high-quality breakfast options and the stunning terrace view, many complain about slow service and lack of attentiveness from the staff. Appetizers often arrive late, and drink refills are scarce, leading to frustrations. Diners reported that the takeout window near the water park should be avoided due to subpar food and unengaged staff. Despite these service snags, some entrees, like the haddock, garnered positive notes. Ultimately, while the food can be enjoyable, the service experience leaves much to be desired, prompting some guests to seek alternatives nearby.

I experienced a long wait for below-average service. The prices were high for food that was just mediocre. The only redeeming quality was the pleasant view!
To begin with, our waitress gave the teenagers tiny toddler-sized cups, which they quickly drank in one gulp. She said she would bring regular-sized glasses but never came back. It was an entire hour before she checked on us for drink refills, and our food took over an hour to arrive. We had ordered an appetizer, but it was served with the main courses instead of beforehand. When it was time to pay, it took her another 20 minutes to return with our debit card. Because of this experience, we will not be coming back. The next night, we ordered pizza downstairs where we had a fantastic waitress!
Overall, the restaurant was okay. My wife enjoyed the haddock she ordered. We also had breakfast, which was decent. However, I would strongly recommend avoiding the takeout window by the water park. We bought three hot dog baskets, some pretzels that were almost inedible, a strawberry slushy (the best item we had), and a fruit plate, all costing $65. Unfortunately, the hot dogs were disappointing. It felt like the man at the counter was doing all the work while the two girls were just chatting. I wouldn’t suggest eating here.
