I got the vegetarian eggplant, mapo tofu, and veggie fried rice. The fried rice and mapo tofu was very good, I would get them again. The eggplant was a bit sweet which caught me by surprise. The food was pretty good, though my hopes were higher. Would give the food 3.5 stars View all feedback.
What Mariel Gomez doesn't like about House Of Three Gorges Sān Xiá Rén Jiā In Aust:
The owner of this restaurant was incredibly rude to us. When my daughter accidentally spilled some water, we used a few napkins to clean it up. However, the owner scolded us for wasting too many napkins. What kind of restaurant owner berates customers for using napkins to clean up a mess? If the owner doesn 't want customers using napkins, they should not be running a restaurant in the first place. I would strongly a... View all feedback.
I'm a regular at House of Three and have been for at least 4 years. I introduced my husband to authentic Chinese food from House of 3 and he loves them too. Their Sichuan cuisine is authentic and delicious. I've tried other places in Austin with similar cuisine and House of Three always comes out on top. Our favorite dishes (our spice tolerance is pretty high, YMMV): 1. Mala Chicken: pretty hot. Has both sichuan peppers and fresh green peppers. 2. Spicy boiled beef: this is my usual order. i usually sub chicken for beef. This is soupy, spicy, brothy and comforting. Has sichuan peppers. 3. Mongolian Beef: this is a crowd pleaser, not too spicy and extremely flavorful 4. Jumping fish: slightly spicy and very delicious 5. Cumin lamb: medium spicy. cumin is the primary flavor of this dish 6. Pork Wonton in Spicy Soup: this soup has the most unique spicy, umami flavor. This also quickly became my usual order.
Holy crap that was good. I 'm reminded of the Woody Allen joke about, The food is so bad here, and the response, Yes, and such small portions! . The polar opposite is true here; huge portions, impossibly low prices, and incredible food. I think I just found my favorite restaurant in Austin
This is one of the best Chinese foods I have eaten. We have our local haunts which we go too but we heard of this and had to check it out. We did a pick up order. I went in. Small place. About 12-14 tables. A maximum of 30-35 people can be seated in the restaurant. It smelt heavenly when I went in. The order was ready. I Placed it through uber eats. The spicy pork wontons just melted in the mouth. The chilli oil was perfect. Not too thick, perfect amount of salt with the green onions giving a nice crunch. The eggplant in garlic sauce was delicious. We asked for this to be a little less spicy so kids could eat too. It was too good. Mix the sauce with rice and bite into the perfectly stir fried eggplant. The green beans were crunchy, tasty and perfectly seasoned. The kids loved this one. Had to hide some for me and my husband. The dry stir fried dry chicken was delicious. You could feel the peppercorn in the mouth as an after taste. We however prefer chicken with sauce and wanted to try something out of our comfort zone. This dish didn't disappoint. The outside was crunchy and crispy; inside chicken was soft. The vegetable lo mein was delicious. Vegetables tossed into perfectly cooked and seasoned noodles. Of course will be a hit. We are definitely coming back.
