I can’t express enough how compassionate and kind the owners are. A few weeks ago, I visited to inquire about hosting a private luncheon at the restaurant. The owners took the time to thoroughly go over all the options, and both were incredibly charming, just like the server who served me one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever tasted. What Vincent Becker doesn't like about Black Forest Taphouse:
Atmosphere was great and they have plenty of beers on tap. However they could use a few more lighter beers. Our sandwiches were okay but the bun was a bit stale. Overall it was good and I would give it another try and hope the food was better next time. View all feedback.
I came here to listen to my friends, Amy and Andy, who were performing music. Our server, Sierra, was very personable and friendly. The food was delicious! I started with the crab balls, followed by the speck kartoffels and grilled asparagus. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I typically don't eat a lot at once, and when my meal arrived, I realized I would definitely have leftovers. The crab balls were a good size, and there were six of them. The kartoffels were a generous portion and paired beautifully with the asparagus. You know how leftovers always taste better the next day? The extra kartoffels were so tasty that I wished I had ordered more. Along with the speck in the kartoffels, there were also mushrooms and gravy, which all combined wonderfully! And of course, the crab balls were exceptional! (I didn’t think to take a picture at the time, so I snapped one of the leftovers I took home.) My friend who joined me ordered a salad and thoroughly enjoyed every bite!
My partner and I absolutely love this place! There's nothing like supporting a local business, especially when they offer delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. We especially enjoy the live music nights, but even without them, the experience is fantastic. The terrace is stunning, and the person who takes care of the plants does an excellent job! The staff is always friendly and attentive. We highly recommend it!

This is one of our new favorite spots. eating is amazing! I want to steal the cheese recipe from queso mac. it is creamy with the right amount of kick on it. also the brezels are great. I'm going to crawl with us. we never had bad food or bad service here. we like to look for our favorite waitress, kellie. she is a great server and makes our experience really better. the first time we came here, we were impressed by the tw set up in cash. we spent a few hours in the bar and watched a football match with some people we met there. the place has a friendly atmosphere. they have a series of tvs that show different sporting events, with taking one in the corner, the always food network on. we laugh about it, but I see most of it. everything in everything. super space. if you're at the chew, just go. they have good food, an impressive beer list, a great service and a beautiful atmosphere.
This place has not disappointed! the food was tasteful and plentiful and the drink selection was also great. I recommend the perogies (with this Gravy
