Average Joe's - North Bay

We live in Welland and went Road tripping for The Mans Birthday. The view was AMAZING, FOOD was great and SERVICE was awesome! Would Def recommend to anyone!

Great view of Trout Lake, make sure and ask for a window view. Food is good, most soups are delicious.

We booked a table by the window which we didn't get . . . the table was on the slant so two people could not see the lovely view without turning their heads and then it was blocked by other diners. Drinks orders were taken quickly. One person ordered the caesar salad which was ok not outstanding and two ordered French Onion soup. After fishing out the four pieces of bread from the soup bowl there was a teaspoon of onion and it was very salty. No-one checked back with us how the food was. The pickerel was ordered by two people and appeared to be very good with a pile of veggies. I ordered salmon salad and the salmon was dried out and a very small portion. When the server came back to refill the water I voiced my concerns about the soup which was promptly deducted from the bill. No-one checked the the entrees were okay. Three people split a dessert which was readily brought with three spoons and plates. We had to ask the bus gal for the bill as we waited so long and then we had to ask someone else to pay the bill as we waited again. The server did split the dessert amongst the three bills which was a nice touch. It appears they are so used to people coming in for the view which is lovely that they do not have to try to give any sort of service.

Not good, crappy in fact. Dated, lousy food, mediocre service. Don't understand the positive reviews.

This restaurant has a history of providing quality meals and good service in very pleasant surroundings.The staff there are always very congenial and welcoming. We have been to Average Joe's on several occasions and the fresh pickerel has always been a savoring treat. This is a good spot to visit with guests and to revisit from time to time when one wants a lovely night out to a good meal.
