Food was flavoursome. The lamb ribs were amazing our favourite for the night. Service was friendly and fast, but almost too fast at times. We did feel a bit raced to get through the dishes. We were seated overlooking the kitchen which wasn't what we were expecting. Quite separate from the rest of the restaurant. Would have been much better at a table. Will request that next time. Otherwise, wonderful food, friendly s... View all feedback.
What Martino Leoni doesn't like about Gin Long Canteen:
eating was not fresh, feels like they only warm it up. the crispy boar was soggy and lack of veggies, satay chicken puppies was not charcoal was just warm. the staff was friendly and attentive! service: dine in meal type: dinner price per person: $80–100 View all feedback.
What a fabulous place. the personal was really nice and the service is excellent. the menu was great and eating was fantastic. the handmade spring rolls were from this world. the basilikum fried rice and the barramundi and the pork bell were large net parts. will definitely be back.
It's been a long time ago between visiting, but gin long canteen was as good as I remember. all the dishes were fantastic and they were happy to pamper dishes so that everyone if our group could have one. excellent service.
This place is always busy. I came here for birthday dinner and ordered the banquet with a group of friends. the banquet is a really good opportunity to try a large number of elements from their menu. I got no chance to take photo of any dish, but some of the stand-outs for me was the soft dish crab (that is not included in the banquet . . . . I ordered it as a supplement), lychee ente curry and the bark salad. I wasn't a fan of descent, because the ratio of salate to meat was not balanced, there was much too much salate. service was fast and friendly. the seating area is standard and comfortable and the rest of the interior is trendy imo. los!
Asian meets fusion in the heart of adelaide, unexpected fantastic food to fit with ambiente and service. better than chin chin in melbourne.
Walking out of Gin Long Canteen with a big doggie bag of coconut rice and vego curry, I was one chuffed mung bean, because if there is one thing that I love, it's restaurant leftovers. One of my friends and I met here for dinner after work on a Thursday evening, and I was honestly shocked at how busy it was for a North Adelaide eatery. The restaurant is large and bustly, and filled up with hungry punters as early as 6pm. With lots of conversation to catch up on, my gal pal and I ordered Gin Longs cocktails and juices to sip on, while taking our time to peruse the menu. Eventually we decided on some munchies, and everything was exceptional right down to the rice which was an unexpected...read more
