Jana's is a great little spot. I've been here a few times for Italian food and members of my family eat here weekly. Jana loves making a special off menu dish for my hubby. She is pleasant and has a great memory of what you ordered last time or even the time before that. The baked Rigatoni, meatballs and eggplant Parmesan are all great! My husband loves a pasta dish with shrimp, mussels, artichoke and clam sauce. The... View all feedback.
What Jewel Nader doesn't like about Jana's Italian & Thai Restaurant:
Horrible, horrible. My dish was tasteless and my companion said her's tasted slightly rancid. We had to leave most of the food and stop somewhere else for something to eat. The lunch special was 10.95 for a very small portion of food. Will never return! View all feedback.
Food was absolutely horrible. Both people in my party felt the food was spoiled. With other choices in Norman there's no reason to bother with this place.

I can only assume that the majority of the positive reviews for this restaurant are written by older (50+) people, because (in general) as we age we tend to prefer blander foods and shy away from bold flavor. In fact the majority of the customers I saw in there on a Saturday afternoon were older folks, and I say that being 45 myself. The one word that sums up my experience here - bland. We started with the fried calamari, which was clearly some frozen pre-packaged mess that you can get in any grocery store, and it came with an unremarkable off-the-shelf cocktail sauce. At almost $9, it is insultingly overpriced. My guest had shrimp pad thai which featured terribly over-cooked, rubbery shrimp and practically no real flavor to speak of. I chose chicken pad thai with clear noodles. The chicken was dry and, again, the entire dish was practically flavorless. I gave this review a 2.0 because the service was fairly quick and at least the place looked clean. That is literally the best thing I can say about Jana's. I seriously don't know how this place stays in business, unless the majority of their customers are indeed older people who prefer bland food.

My husband loves a pasta dish with shrimp, mussels, artichoke and clam sauce. The house salad is crisp and fresh with a simple oil and vinegar dressing. I can't wait to try her Thai food!
