Amazing food, great wine, awesome atmosphere, excellent staff. By far the best meal ive had in Norfolk .
Ok. The San Marzono Primitivo (red wine) served in a jam jar was a tad bohemium, but hey, when in Rome.
Listen up America, this is why you tip! View all feedback.
What Loraine Kautzer doesn't like about Field Guide:
disappointed. does not have the waiting staff or the cash register friendly or helpful. they seemed like robots. they even wanted to be there eating was like that. the sandwich of my friend was served on white brot. sandwichbrot. the one side I had was not tasteful. it was spoiled green with jalapenos. I'm sorry to put 4 jalapenos on sauted greens, not add the spicy taste to the court. the cricket curry what very goo... View all feedback.

When I decided what to drink (which took me all of 12 seconds. Cool drink list), and I was FINALLY able to flag him over, I ordered a glass of wine and he looked at me blankly. So I repeated myself...more blank stare...then I pointed at it on the list. OH OKAY. I wasn't sure what that was he said, and proceeded to...read more
So good!. This afternoon I had the pleasure of stopping by Field Guide for the first time. This is David Hausmann and John Porter's new lunch spot located at 429 Granby St. in downtown Norfolk. You may recognize those names as David John own local favorite The Handsome Biscuit and used to run The Boot The first thing that will catch your eye upon arriving is the large glass garage door. This opens to reveal a stand up counter and ventilates the entire restaurant on a nice day such as today. The interior of this old building has been redesigned with a very open and modern concept. There are 3 long semi diagonal tables for seating in addition to the standing counter at the entrance...read more
