We go there every time we're in town to meet friends. I like the fact that my husband can smoke while we enjoy a drink. I find her food too expensive, so rarely we eat there. The food is at the lower end of the moderate at a high price. They would have more business if they had lowered their prices. The waiting staff needs a personality. I found them very cured and cold every visit. But the other guests, the environm... View all feedback.
What Robyn Romaguera doesn't like about Cutty Sark:
Something is wrong with the atmosphere; it's so hot in thete (in winter? that my eyes were gonna blow up. It may be because of all the smoking or there's no ventilation. Food was good. There was a really awesome guitar entertainment/singer Wayne Mitchell! He'd the reason I'd go back! View all feedback.
It was my first time here just recently with my partner and his family. It is a cozy seafood restaurant right on the water with the marina. You have live music here! It is a very entertaining atmosphere. Our food was hot, fresh and very tasty my scallops, shrimps and oysters were fried to perfection. Service on point and very attentive. My husband and I enjoyed our first visit here and will definitely return!
I had to help a buddy move a boat from the marina, which led us to dining here for lunch. If there was an option for 6 stars I would easily give them all 6. Food, service and atmosphere was extremely delicious delightful. If you're ever in the area, and undecided on where to eat, do give this place a try. You will not regret it.
This is what you expect when you go to a dive bar. The food was good for a dive bar and the drinks where a good price. For starters we had chicken wings and jalapeno poppers. The wings were very good. They were crispy and juicy and had a nice kick to them. The poppers sadly were not very spicy but well cooked. I had the bacon cheese burger with fries. The patty was a good size and it wad cooked well. They toasted the inside of the bun giving it a nice crunch and helped the burger hold together. The fries were crispy and not over salted or seasoned. My husband had the surf and turf, which came with coconut shrimp. The shrimp tastes like they had been frozen but were still pretty good. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare but could have used a little more seasoning. He ordered a side of hushpuppies and were very good. Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. And you have to appreciate the view. Sitting on the water as the sun sets after a long day at work is very relaxing and beautiful.
This is a cute little dive bar. The food was decent and the service was okay, but the atmosphere really made the place! I would definitely come back.
Sad to find out they are scuttling the place at the end of September, the 27th I think. This is about the last of the classic OV dive bars, it will be sad to see it go, but what a run! They were out of the things we initially tried to order, so we had the bbq, which was awesome! Fries were good, as was the fried okra. Hard to believe we will never get to enjoy there old time feel of a true Norfolk land mark.
