An absolutely wonderful brunch experience. Amari was so knowledgeable and pleasant! The food is not only delicious, it was unique. Very recommended. I love three hours away, but I'll visit again! View all feedback.
What Βανθούλα Κοσμά doesn't like about Commune:
Our first visit to Commune NFK will be our last. The service was really slow--it took 10-15 minutes just to get our coffee drinks--and the menu is overpriced and the food, mediocre. My flavored latte was $7.50. Mimosas were $10-$12 each. Very small brunch portions. A beautiful space, but a frustrating dining experience. View all feedback.
I had heard great things about this restaurant and its commitment to sourcing ingredients locally, but I was a bit disappointed. I tried their version of a French dip, and while it was decent, the overpowering flavor was mainly just salt. The other diner I was with ordered a fried chicken sandwich that appeared to be overcooked. It was quite dark, suggesting it had been fried for too long, and it had a slight bitter, burnt taste. Overall, it wasn't awful, and the staff was very friendly, but I likely wouldn't return.
I love Commune! They offer amazing food, delightful locally produced wines, and an atmosphere that's perfect for any event. With fresh ingredients sourced from their nearby garden, along with beautiful plants and lighting, you're sure to enjoy a wonderful ambiance. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing quick service. They host open mic nights and engage in community efforts to support underprivileged youths. Commune is truly committed to community action and definitely provides a positive impact, making it a great place to delight your taste buds with high-quality food.
The biscuits were outstanding, and the service was wonderful! The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming for families. The kids loved admiring the artwork and playing board games.
Good food. Good drinks. Good service. I recommend the chicken and waffles for breakfast.
I actually really love Commune, but mostly for the vibes, staff, and farm to table set up. A good spot to hang out and do work with some coffee and nibbles. They have GREAT customer service too. But the food itself is alright at best. Some things are good: their cocktails, their brisket, their eggs. But otherwise, there's a distinct lack of flavor. I got one of the bowls last time and it was really disappointing (chicken was so bland, unseasoned rice but the veggies and pesto were good! . My husband had a burger that was very dry. My gin cocktail was amazing though!! So just be concious of what you order and don't be afraid to be specific about what you want. Ask the staff their opinions too! Commune is a staple in downtown Norfolk but because I love it, I gotta be honest.
