Booked a table via email for dinner, speedy response. Were seated on arrival and, although we felt a bit rushed, the service was great and the food was excellent! A very popular restaurant close to city centre. Reasonably priced. Would recommend this eatery View all feedback.
What Ida Gerber doesn't like about Donai:
The restaurant is very loud. The service is totally devoid of warmth or charm. We ordered two pizzas, one gluten free. They arrived promptly. Both Pizzas tasted of nothing! The quality of the dough on the gluten free one was good (for a gluten free...pizza) however the normal one tasted like a tourist trap pie made with the lowest grade flour available. The cheese tasted of nothing, again the cheapness of the ingredi... View all feedback.
Excellent italian food served by a very good staff, prompt, polite and efficient. We were 5 (2 adults and 3 children - generally hard to please !) and were there several times during our 1 week stay in D.
Well located and spacious restaurant, whose menu is varied, although it is oriented to Italian cuisine, as well as its wines. The personal is friendly and lively, although it is noticeable at very full filling that the service takes time. good value for money.
We stayed in dusseldorf for three night, for two of these nights we ate in the do nai. The food is great! The first night i had a pizza and the second time the pike perch. The portions are on the larger side, but its better to have too much than not enough!. The food was presented well and prompt and was delivered hot. The staff are very polite and accomadating, i unfortunately dont speak much german(or italian!) But that wasnt a problem here as they would be willing to speak in english. I would definatly would come back again
Pizza is good, appetizers are average. the service is very slow. on Saturday night were not many people there, but eating waited 50 minutes
In general a good place if few people are there, but it is worth coming on a weekend night when the room is full, you can wait for hours for an order. we eat here for the second time with colleagues to the evening, since a year nothing has changed - the waiters are apparently the same, they don't stand still, but they cook for 50 minutes nude and react to ask to get faster at the ransom of rudeness. eating is not bad, pasta 9-15 euro, meat/fish approx. 18-20.
