Be it a (great) coffee or a nice glass of wine, this has one of the best outlooks along Gympie Terrace. The service is friendly and relaxed and the range of food and drink options extensive. An ideal place to linger... View all feedback.
What BRUCE H doesn't like about Lazy River Bar & Bistro:
I have been reading the reviews for this restaurant over the last 6 months, having eaten there by myself about 2 years ago. My experience then echoes many of the negative experiences of the slow, dismissing waiter staff and the so-so meal quality. Yet the reviews are highly variable. One wonders why a restaurant in such a stunning location cannot maintain simple good quality and service. I take it that the answer lie... View all feedback.
I had to get a takeaway as needed to make a conference call. so I sat opposite by the river. I ordered a bacon roll and a large Ling black coffee, I get it so what…. Well the bacon roll was sublime absolutely the best ever bacon roll I have ever had Turkish bread, butter, tomato sauce, crispy bacon, just perfection and I will be back again today for a replay but will sit down this time as it’s the weekend. All cooked to order no pre cooking just the way it should be … sooo worth the short wait
Upon entering the restaurant, I informed the staff of my food allergies. The chef at Lazy River went above and beyond to create a meal that not only accommodated my allergies, but was also more enticing and visually appealing than the original dish!

One wonders why a restaurant in such a stunning location cannot maintain simple good quality and service. I take it that the answer lies in the leadership/management of this restaurant. Maybe time for the people who run it to move on???? There are SO MANY ALTERNATIVES to this place along Gympie Terrace, such that I've moved on, and I'm a local. If you are reading this review, I'd encourage you to try another spot.
I recently celebrated my birthday with a fantastic lunch at the Lazy River Bar Bistro. The menu had a great selection of specials at reasonable prices. Our waitress Michelle was incredibly helpful with gluten-free options and provided excellent service to our table. To top it off, my dessert even came with a birthday candle sparkler. I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious food and great service.
I went here for my first visit with a group of people on a rainy Saturday morning having booked tables for 12 of us. Owing to the weather 6 of the group sent their apologies and I had to cancel but the manager was very understanding and made us very welcome . The staff gave us excellent service helping us seniors with our correct check-in procedures, and suggesting different menu items. I willingly tried the special breakfast deal and enjoyed the generous serve of my 2 poached eggs and tomatoes and herbs on toast and was pleasantly surprised by the low cost of my meal. The Lazy River is a very popular Saturday breakfast bar and has a lovely warm and charming atmosphere that obviously endears it to many patrons .
