The Flying Pig Beach Hostel (noordwijk)

The hostel was one of my favourites for my 5 week travel through Europe. This was mainly due to the atmosphere of the hostel and the people that stayed there. The hostel is pretty cool and in a neat location in Noordwijk. It's a great place to get away for some time if you need to relax but also great for visiting Amsterdam due to the hostel's shuttle service. The town itself is also really beautiful and has a grocery store nearby for food that you can cook in the common hostel kitchen. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is due to the rooms (cold during the winter, bad bunk bed structure, no lockers for backpacks), and the staff (some were standoffish, unkind, others were excellent) Overall would definitely visit again if I was travelling through Amsterdam

Best hostel on the beach. The nicest staff. Private rooms were very spacious. Lots of narrow stairs.

5 stars for the ambience. The warmth felt in this hostel is amazing. The beach is a few blocks away. The staff is amazing and brimming with energy. Great place to relax and make friends Free breakfast, clean rooms and washrooms The place is small and cozy just the atmosphere to feel part of the flock.

Booked this hostel after seeing all the good reviews, but had the most horrible experience. Stayed in their single bed in mixed dormitory (4 beds), 2 beds were booked by me and my friend. Checked in , and went to the common area to chill to find out in an hour that 3 boys were in my room. Went down to ask about what were 3 people doing in the room when 2 beds were ours, in those 10 minutes they took my suitcase and left. After asking multiple times and no help, called the cops. Just to seek my suitcase told them my passport was in the suitcase though it was with me. The hostel staff came back with multiple excuses, and the last one was that they have found the bag, but there is no stuff in the bag. It is near a bin. When asked to show, no answer. Let me clear the reality here, they were the ones who tipped the guys, gave access to my room, the 3 guys were local. They did not cooperate on showing the cameras. Worst experience ever. Either go looking like you’re poor or don’t go at all.
