I visited for brunch and was thoroughly impressed. The service was fantastic, there was plenty of hot coffee, and the staff was friendly and local. Plus, the food was excellent! The biscuits and gravy were exactly as I had hoped, and my companion ordered the "Polar Starving Man" meal, which included roasted bark and iron alongside a delicious stack cake. View all feedback.

Absolutely terrible. While the staff tried to be helpful, it couldn't make up for the poor quality of the food. I'm pretty sure the bacon wasn't authentic; the texture was like rubber...
Polar Bar is a no-frills bar in Nome, but it definitely gets the job done. If you're seeking an extraordinary experience, you might want to head to the Lower 48 instead. However, Polar Bar serves its purpose just fine.

I had breakfast here twice and enjoyed large portions of delicious omelettes and side dishes. The coffee was plentiful, and the staff was attentive. The only downside is that they have a fantastic dinner menu, but they close at 3 PM. Unfortunately, we only looked at the menu instead of the hours, so we arrived hungry.
