What User doesn't like about Restaurant la Grand'voile:
À éviter de toute urgence, service bas de gamme, attente interminable, cuisine au rabais, même pas capable de cuire des moules correctement pour le prix d'un vrai restaurant de plus il ne se remettent pas en question, passez votre chemin View all feedback.
A great find. The restaurant is well located and the staff are very helpful. Glad we sat inside as the view was better and the air conditioning made it a lot more comfortable. The food was excellent and the menu de jour options are very well priced. Would highly recommend.
Six of us were visiting Noirmoutier and reached l'Herbaudière at half past one. Realising it was a little late for lunch I went into the restaurant and asked if they would serve us a meal. The staff were pleasant, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Three of us had generous servings of mussels and chips (maison) with white wine, roquefort and chorizo sauce and the other three chose one of several very reasonably priced menus and were served delicious food. The restaurant is located in a busy, attractive port and is open and airy with a terrasse as well. We'll be back!
My wife, and my sister and brother in Law from New Zealand lunched here eleven days ago. We had no reservations so were shown to the upstairs dining room, just as well appointed as downstairs, but a better view through the picture windows to the busy Port de Pêche et de Plaisance, from where loads of fish and shellfish are landed. I could also see the Dive boat that I had been out on that morning belonging to La Bulle d'Her. Service was prompt and courteous. The New Zealanders chose the 3 course Menu priced at a very reasonable Euros 13.90 per head and seemed well satisfied. My wife had a nicely cooked fresh Sea Bass for Euros 22.90. I started with excellent Soupe de Poissons and continued with a huge Sea Food Platter (see photograph), half a crab, three oysters, three langoustines, three palourdes, three whelks, a dozen crevettes and a score of winkles. The dish cost Euros 17.50. My wife and I shared a delicious Coupe Williamine, made from sorbet, pears and Poire William. We all shared a litre of Badoit, and a very good bottle of local white wine from Mareuil. The Total Bill was Euros 95.80, or £65.80 on my Post Office Credit Card. We all agreed that the meal was far better and far cheaper than the dinner the night before at a Michelin Restaurant.
We have been visiting this Restaurant for over 25 years......we have never had a bad experience! Obviously we are a little older now, but of all the restaurants on Noirmoutier, this is our absolute favourite!! The location is superb looking over the beautiful harbour of L'Herbaudiere, and the food cannot be faulted..whether on a budget or slashing out for special occasions. The staff are lovely and very attentive, and there is even a water bowl for your pets! What is there not to like? Lesley, Dartford, England
