Came here on a Sunday, in winter (early March), we snow-shoed 4 hours, so we were hungry and parched! I dreamt of a fondue with mineral water and wine, but when we arrived at 6pm, it was closing time! They let us in to take some food and a drink to go, but as for the dreamy fondue, the reply, a strong NO! I was devastated to have to eat a sandwich and chips instead, but I guess this way, it was fine- I was home sooner in bed. The view was fantastic on the way there and from the hotel, you could see half of Switzerland, and see it very well! Open later in summer and Saturdays during winter time, I guess I`ll just have to come back again and make the 400m climb!
It is a great view point and a great bike tour (approx. 1150 hm) with a mindblowing panorama of the Swiss/Western alps. When it is clear you can actually see from Säntis to Mt. Blanc. Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Blümlisalp and Doldenhorn are the most dominant mountains since they are also the closest. Below are the Lac de Bienne (Bieler See), Lac de Neuchâtel (Neuenburgersee) and Lac de Morat (Murtensee). It is definitely worth to jump in one of the lakes after a bike or hiking trip! Would also recommend the village of Twann. It has cozy restaurants and a nice church. Beautiful wineyards are just starting in the villages. Parking spaces are close to the train station and behind the church...
