Normally we avoi... read more My wife and I just spent four days in San Jose, where we stayed at Santuario San Jose, the pleasant hotel where Restaurante Aniceto is located. Normally we avoid hotel restaurants, after lots of disappointing meals. But Aniceto looked very inviting and San Jose's other restaurants didn't seem all that appealing, so we decided to give it a try. What a surprise! Our two dinners there were delicious, the cooking inventive, the staff very friendly just a lovely dining experience. My wife is vegetarian and had the grilled vegetables both nights. She said it was the best she has ever tasted. I had cabrito with a honey glaze one night, duck breast with mushrooms and pineapple the other, both of them excellent. The chocolate and nut cake we shared for dessert was so divine we had it twice. Prices are on the high side, but excellent value for the quality of the food (quantity too portion sizes were very generous). I can't imagine there is a better dining choice in San Jose. In fact, it was the best food we had in our two weeks in Andalucia, including a restaurant in Granada everyone raves about. Go if you get the chance.
