We went to this restaurant at the advice of a local German friend. There was a wide choice of foods - mostly German and Italian. The staff spoke a little English and they were very nice. What User doesn't like about Ristorante Pizzeria La Gondola:
I have no clue why people rave about this place. Everything we ate was simply okay. It's a small place and all the tables were "reserviert" though hardly anyone showed up whilst we were there. I feel there are better choices in the area. View all feedback.
I have no idea why people rave over this place. Everything we ate was just fine. It is a small place and all tables were present, although hardly anyone showed up while we were there. I think there are better choices in the area.

We made the mistake to arrive in La Gondola without reservation on Valentine's Day. The place was packed, but the staff was very, very friendly and could finally get us a table by putting other guests together at a table and letting us stay. The salads and lures where big in portion and were excellent. The handmade gnocchi filled with spinach are a MUST HAVE!!! The great Dessert Sampler was also fantastic. We had a great time and we will be back next year at another ambiance show in Frankfurt. The only advice I have for other guests who want to experience great Italian cuisine in this fine kitchen: You need CASH!!!! You don't accept plastic.
