Was there during their rush hour in the morning, but it didn't take me long to get a booth. Service was amazing, very kind and conversational wait staff. Had the Big T Omelette, which was huge. Had rye bread as the side that was toasted perfectly. The omelette, though big in size, was a little bland when it came to the sausage gravy, but I could have added salt and pepper on top, which I neglected to do. But overall, I had a great experience for my first time eating there. They have a great menu selection, and their pancakes are huge for the low price.
I used to enjoy taking my dad to breakfast here because he's very picky and this restaurant was always very consistentNot anymore. The last time I took Dad for breakfast, I had to rush him home because he had diarrhea. My sister and I had some business in niceville today so we decided to give it another try.As always the service was quick. The coffee is excellent.I asked for rye toast dark with my breakfast. The toast that came out wasn't even warm and was soggy and limp. There was so much grease on my plate that when the server was setting it down towards me grease was literally running off the plate.I called her back immediately and asked her to please get me some toast that was actually toasted.Evidently she noticed me trying to get all the grease off the plate, under the eggs, under the potatoes and dripping off the bacon. She came back came back and asked me if I just wanted her to take the entire plate to which I replied; Yes, Yes I do.She then brought me some rye toast that was done just right. But then she returned to tell me she was one of the owners and that I could have handled the situation better. I said excuse me? I should have handled it better? I asked for toast dark/well done! And you brought me soggy cold bread and I'm not supposed to tell you about it?There was literally grease running off my plate. I'm sorry, how is one supposed to handle that?My sister's plate was great. There was no grease on it and the eggs look great. She was enjoying her breakfast until she found hair on the plate. And as I was eating the new toast that they made me, we found a hair on my plate. That's it for me.We were not charged for breakfast but we left $10 for her efforts however;Neither of us will ever go back.Perhaps the owner/server could have handled the situation better.
Breakfast was very good, service was great, the atmosphere had a local flair, and prices weren't bad. Overall we were very satisfied.
