I am always looking for a new sushi restaurant in Nice. Being on the sea, you think there would be many and that they would be really experienced and good. So, I was excited to find this place. It's small and right up the street from another sushi restaurant that was packed. There was no tuna at all...a problem...it had not been delivered...and no spicy anything that I could tell...I wanted spicy tuna. I didn't even see the my usual fall back french foie gras sushi...so for me, the choices were limited.I give it an "ok" and hope they improve...I would try it again. I do like the fact that you can sit at an actual sushi bar....but they did not seem to have a sushi chef..just people making the sushi orders.
I am probably one of the best customers in maki bar, I am a sushi lover and I have tried many places in nizza. the price-performance ratio is incredible! they are the best and the cheapest sushi I found! For...10€ they have a big box of sushi taste them out, they will not be disappointed
They offer cheap sushi. we ordered the plates and they were like prefabricated sushi to buy in a carrefour. nothing great. I will not go back there.
To go sushi. The service was very good and prices cheap. The sushi wasn’t the best but it was a good dinner after a long day.
The fish was fresh and the rice well-prepared — definitely a strong start. Unfortunately, the soy sauce was actually teriyaki sauce, far too sweet for proper sushi. I specifically asked if one roll contained cream cheese, and was told yes, but it turned out to be processed cheese — a disappointing substitute. Also, they don’t allow you to order the sushi you want freshly made; you can only pick from what’s already prepared. That takes away from the experience.
