What Joanne DuBuque doesn't like about Le Safari:
We’ve been in Nice for a few days and met a never ending parade of lovely, welcoming people. Until tonight. We visited Le Safari and were “greeted” by undoubtedly THE rudest waitress of all time. I am not one to cast aspersions but she was...perfectly pleasant to everyone French and downright dismissive and obnoxious to us. She ignored our table for more than 20 minutes, was unaccomodating about a change request and... View all feedback.
Had the special, which was fillet of sea bream, on mashed potatoes, and our party also had the salmon. Both delicious. Also had profiteroles and the creme brulee between us. Recommend all! Great spot.

Given the location on the tourist strip, surprisingly good, delicious food (with tourist pricing aka slightly higher than normal). Service was slow but friendly when available. Our server was working hard and in our case delivered 2 meals that were practically finished eating before the...final two arrived. We also received our apps before receiving our drinks. In my opinion, the owner is either raking it in by over working his staff, or possibly they were short staffed as there appeared to be only two servers looking after a very large patio area (including one group of close to 20 people).
We visited the restaurant three times. The salad for lunch was very good and the local white wine good. The menu was very interesting and we saw another table eating a roast lamb dish. That evening we returned and had the lamb together with a...local recommended red wine that was excellent. The third time we booked and were a little disappointed that the table had been double booked. We were given another nice table and we had the lamb and roast rabbit both excellent. They use a wood oven for the roast. The patron did give use a digestive to compensate for the booking mix up. The staff are attentive and helpful. Definitly not a tourist joint.
