We loved this cafe. The manager, Yudi, was very hospitable. His wait-staff, attentive every time we came here for breakfast. What was great was that during the week, most people there were locals. This would absolutely be my regular spot to have a cup of coffee in the morning if I lived there. A great spot to people-watch. View all feedback.
What Alessandro Gutmann doesn't like about Le Liber'tea:
Arrived, asked if we can order food, waiter said yes. Ordered food and all of a sudden man from nowhere walked up and said no food. Then our waiter says you can't have your food. Got up and left. No one knows what they are doing and manager shouts at staff. Very sad in this at and age .. French or not !! View all feedback.
First of all... almost 40 mins wait for our food, which was two steaks. I don't mind waiting for food as long as it's good... well, two steaks arrived and I have never in my life had such rubbery food, couldn't cut through it never mind chew it. We asked the waiter politely if there was something he could do, and he was so rude, and they still charged us a whopping €50 even though neither of us touched our steak after the first bite. Do yourselves a favour.... if you come here, don't ask for the steak... or just don't come here, as the staff aren't that great either!
Un peu à l'écart des autres restaurants du quartier, service quelconque, croque monsieur trop cuit, service distrait, musique assourdissante. à éviter
Really can't stand these places which charge Negresco prices for dirty old pub fare. Learned the hard way, having been cajoled in by one of their hawker-waiters during a weaker moment, we sat down at our dirty table too tired to move somewhere else, and settled down to some sticky menus of overpriced ice-creams and beverages.Had a beer from a dirty glass, paid (yet another) 40 Euros for a below-average drinks stop. Seriously, just head for Negresco or similar - might as well!
Sometimes the review isn't always about the food. This place is a traditional French bistro, its just off the main thoroughfare, but Central, the staff are are always welcoming the Owner and especially Patrick, our usual waiter. The food is very good but, for me, the outstanding dish is the Steak Tartare, choice of three at about 16 euros, the best I have had anywhere. As long as we visit Nice this will always be on our list of places to visit. If you agree or like my post please give me a helpful vote.
