We wandered past several restaurants along Quai des Docks and couldn't choose between them. But at this small place there was a cheery greeting inviting us in, so we made a snap decision to do so. Simple menu choices such as charcuterie and cheeses, but very good and no junk food. Good value, good service. Only left when we did for dessert elsewhere due to being downwind from two tables of smokers. View all feedback.
What Maci Rodriguez doesn't like about Le Corsaire:
The person kept telling us certain items on the menu were unavailable and then when we went to pay with restaurant checks that the website said they'd accept, they said they stopped accepting checks without apology View all feedback.
Had lunch when we arrived for weekend break had mixed meet and cheese platter very fresh and tasty nice to sit outside in the sunshine friendly staff
I was looking for somewhere to eat I had no where particular in mind but I was walking past this place and a woman who worked there greeted me in french and I took a closer look at the menu and was pleased to find her English was great.I ordered the "Hamburger Course" and she told me to beware that it was in fact not a Hamburger like I might think but would be something else, I told her thats fine and she assured me it would taste great and that if I didn't enjoy it I could have it for free.I took a seat outside, the restaurant has limited seating outside but this was a Monday so there were a couple of spots available. All of them have a great view of the port which is just nice to watch as people go about their maritime business. The food itself was fantastic, I didn't investigate the burger but it was the perfect combination of meats and cheeses and a sauce I couldn't identify. It was the best thing I had eaten in Nice and I would definitely want it again if I could find it (but alas I might have to go to Nice for that I think). A lovely lady who spoke English very well was very accommodating to all my requests and questions which was nice has I speak very limited French and it can be difficult to communicate requests sometimes.I ordered a draft beer which tasted great, very chilled and refreshing (I forget the name) and awaited for my food to arrive. After my Hamburger Course I stayed for dessert chocolate and apply pie and then had another drink just to sit and chill and enjoy the vibe, which was great. Then I had a flight to catch so I had to leave. If I was in the area again I would definitely want to come back here and eat this again it was incredible.
Fantastic service and excellent value for money! The staff here willingly prepared a Margarita cocktail for me, despite never having made one before, or even heard of it! We left here very happy and slightly tipsy!
We went here for breakfast, choosing it on the basis of reviews. Whilst the café was fairly quiet on arrival we were greeted warmly and shown the menu. We chose a breakfast each, which offer a choice of juice and of hot drink to accompany your food. The café is located by the port, offering views of the château hill. The nearest easy parking is to use the underground car park on the west quay of the port and walk back to the east quay. Our breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious, as was the coffee. The service from we assume a family business was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed an unhurried time here and had our plans for the following day not changed, we would have returned again. The Café Corsaire is worth the good reviews.
