Was Claude Poulain at L'Aromate a mag?
Small but imaginative menu with portions a bit on too large end but still very interesting - definitely Michelin star, both as far as complexity and beautiful serving are concerned. Only two people (chef and a waiter/sommelier/ front of the house person) during our visit, taking care of restaurant full' of guest, so impressive challenge and well dealt with at that ! Ristorante simpatico ma con piccoli problemi. Primo il servizio che necessita di almeno una persona in più in sala, secondo l'accoglienza abbastanza fredda e la mancanza di attenzioni X il cliente , ( una fetta di pane tostato con una salsa anonima l'unico amuse bouche) e terzo il terribile bagno con la porta che chiude male e sprigiona cattivi odori!! Wanted to try one of the one star restuarants in Nice and their menu looked interesting onine. Was not disappointed. Found their food inventive and delicious.
C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons dans ce restaurant et c'est toujours parfait.La décoration de ce restaurant a su allier le côté chaud et cocooning de l'ancien avec ses pierres apparentes et un cadre très moderne. Mais proofitez-en vite le restaurant doit se déplacer du côté des Nouvelles Galeries.N'ayant le vin que j'avais sélectionné il m'a été conseillé un petit producteur des Bouches du Rhône, qui s'est marié à merveille avec tout le repas.Nous avons commencé le repas par une pré-entrée : une mousse de thon avec un pain grillé divin. Puis nous avons la première entrée un tourteau crémeux aux agrumes, le mélange iodé acidité était parfaitement ajusté. La deuxième entrée était un velouté de lard crème de foie gras accompagné d'un petit pain feuilleté à la fleu de sel. Le brioché de ce pain et la fleur de sel était un ravissement pour les papilles.En plat de résistance nous avons opté pourfilet de boeuf qui fondait dans la bouche accompagné d'une mousseline et de chips de pomme de terre. Pourvu que le chef ne retire pas ce plat dans sa prochaine carte !!! En dessert des pommes tatin avec un couli de caramel. Cette dernière note était divine.Au regard du travail effectué, de la qualité de la présentation et du service irréprochable de l'épouse du chef, l'addition est tout à fait raisonnable.Nous ne pouvons que leurs souhaiter beaucoup de réussite dans leur nouveau emplacement.
Amazing quality in a very small restaurant. The chef workshop Aline and his partner serves. All the dishes are surprising and delicious.
Menyerna är perfekt sammansatta, smakerna är fantastiska och de olika rätterna är var för sig värda besöket. Kombinerat med gediget mathantverk utan att bli konstlat eller överdrivet som på många andra finare restauranger. Att folk gett dåliga betyg på grund av att bokningssystemet har fallerat är löjligt. Sannolikt Nice bästa restaurang som väl förtjänar sin stjärna i Guide Michelin. Med vänlig, familjär personal och humana priser är det något som du inte får missa.
Wir haben uns spontan angemeldet und noch für den gleichen Abend einen Tisch für 6 Personen erhalten. Ein absoluter Glücksfall. Perfekter Empfang und absolut perfekter Service. Die Speisen waren hervorragend und wir haben uns rundum Wohlgefühl. Kommen beim nächsten Nizzabesuch sicher wieder.

This review has one star because it is the minimum, in reality, 0 star is better. The beauty of haute cuisine is that the chef is an artist that knows how to create out of food. In the over 50 Michelin star experiences I have I never experienced what I did last night. Summary: -One of us is lactose intolerant, apart from the fact that nobody really understood what that meant (chef, manager, waiter), the restaurant was unable to accommodate us with dishes that were suitable for our group from a medical perspective -There were NO vegetarian options (to support the above limitation) -When we politely asked if it would be possible to go elsewhere, the restaurant threatened to charge us 270 euro as a reservation fee because -they said- were unable to fill the table again that evening… not even sure if this is legally allowed -There was no menu on the website, which resulted in us believing that there were many possibilities to suit our needs like you would expect from a michelin star restaurant -The interior of the restaurant was rather shabby (chairs damaged/broken), dirty toilets, no normal towells in the toilets, dust everywhere -There appeared to be no sommelier; a waiter tried to do his best but already on his second sentence came short on proper knowledge on wine pairings -dished were served out incorrectly (they switched some of our chosen menu options around carelessly), which is especially concerning given the fact that one of us had food allergies
Modern, really fantastic 10 meal course- as a Christmas dinner. Wonderful service and fantastic wine to that. So happy we foundation this place
The food maybe good .... I couldn't possibly comment on that because I never got to eat there. My wife and I had a reservation for dinner on June 1st 2023. We answered all their questions...hour of arrival, food allergies, etc. And then we arrived by taxi. And found the restaurant closed, locked up, not even a sign on the front door. Nothing! I will say this. The management of L'Aromate is abysmal. They claimed they sent email about an emergency closure due to water supply problems. We never received any such notice. Other would be clients have had similar problems....read the reviews! If and when this happens to you ...just walk up the street and round the corner to Boccacio. You will get great service and a fine sea food Paella. And your L'Aromate experience will be forgotten. But my advice about this restaurant ....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
We were looking forward to have a nice meal at the restaurant. During the night one of us got the flu and we cancelled by force majeure in the respect for the staff and the other clients. Still the restaurant charged us 90€/person with no possibility of reimbursement. So please make attention and do not get sick the night before your reservation. No force majeure exists.
We made a full booking on the website with card number and all details. Got the booking confirmation by email in return. But when we showed up for our planned dinner there was no space at all for us. Perhaps food is great but this service level is not accepted for this kind of restaurant. They need to get their communication and information for the guests in much better way. Very disappointed!
