The Club House at the Stade Aboras is at the heart of the Stade Nicois Rugby Club. Open for lunch every day (including Sunday when there is a rugby match) and Tuesday and Friday night for dinner. The menu is simple and good. Every day a new "plat du jour" (plate of the day) which is excellent value for money at 9.50 euros. Alternatively take the formula for 13.50 euros which gives you the plate of the day, either a starter or a dessert and a coffee.Last Wednesday the plate of the day included 3 beautiful slices of roast beef, with rosemary gravy and dauphinois potatoes for example. Yesterday we ate a Pork ragout with lots of fresh carrots and peas and rice laced with bacon.The atmosphere is definitely rugby, the restaurant decked out in the local Nice colours of black, red and white. All the servers are professional rugby players and the chef (female) plays rugby too. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed. A haven of good humour in an area of Nice that is crying out for more places like this.
