We expected a Caprese salad with fresh mozzarella balls, basil, and delicious fresh tomatoes. Instead, we received a very small bowl with 6 hard mozzarella balls and 6 tomatoes in a pool of balsamic vinegar. While it was listed as a "small plate" on the menu, I expected more for the $7.00 price, such as more tomatoes. I was hoping that the main courses would make up for the disappointing appetizer, but unfortunately, we never had the chance to try them. When I tried to order a beet salad with grilled chicken instead of the fried option listed on the menu, the waitress informed me that they only had fried chicken and could not accommodate my request. My husband ordered the steak and we patiently waited for our dishes to arrive. After 30 minutes of waiting, the waitress apologized and assured us our meals would be out soon. However, after 45 minutes, and watching other tables that arrived after us being served before us, the waitress returned to inform us that the cook had overcooked the steak, causing a delay. After an hour of waiting and still not receiving our meals, we decided to ask for the check and leave. My husband, being the respectful man he is, paid the bill. While the waitress was apologetic, it was disappointing to see that nothing was done to try to make us happy. Overall, after this experience, we will not be returning to Dew's in the future. We hope it was just a fluke.

The menu is extensive with many options to cater to everyone, from small plates to full meals. Sometimes we order a variety of small plates, other times we opt for more traditional dishes. Two of my favorites are the chowder and shrimp tempura, although everything on the menu is delicious. I suggest making a reservation as they are always busy. They also host themed dinners on Monday evenings, but unfortunately we are usually busy with a show. The desserts are incredible as well, making this restaurant a 15 out of 10 in my book. I have been to many restaurants and I am a food enthusiast, so I highly recommend dining here. It is one of our favorite spots in the city and you will not be disappointed. Despite some negative reviews, I have never experienced any issues with the staff being rude or unaccommodating. One time there was a large party that took longer to finish and even though there were others waiting for tables, the staff remained friendly and patient. I would have handled the situation differently but their professionalism impressed me. I suggest giving this place a try, there may be more to them than meets the eye. Just my two cents!
