Commisso's - Niagara Falls
Commisso's
Description
Commisso's Fresh Foods in Niagara Falls has garnered mixed reviews from customers, with some complaining about subpar customer service and moldy products, while others praise its wide selection of quality foods, including Italian specialties. Despite some hiccups, the store offers a unique array of products from around the world, including vegan options not easily found elsewhere in the region. The deli section is highlighted as a standout, with a vast array of meats. The store's cleanliness and helpful cashiers are also commended, although some have noted limited options for those with specific dietary requirements. Overall, the store seems to cater well to food enthusiasts looking for something different.

Not supporting that, personally - although there was some good food for sure. Anyway, it would be nice if they at least changed their name. I know my grandmother lived on Thornhill in the 60s and has been scared ever since of the "Commissos". Better to drop that name!
This store has a lot going for it and they try and offer a large variety of off the shelf and fresh food products to serve most people. The day I went I was looking for a peanut-free option from bakery section only to see that they do not offer this. The lady said they don't have this option in the bakery section. I had help from a young gentleman who worked there to find something dessert- like in the frozen section and the special gluten -free aisle. They had only typical products like many other stores. A little disappointed. But for people who do not have to deal with allergies, you will find a large and varied selection of goodies.
We run into Commisso's for the Deli in the front by the huge windows. We like to enjoy the fresh sandwiches and pizza while watching the people from the big windows. The food is prepared every morning, and so good. For dessert, there is fresh gelato. The rest of the supermarket has all types of goodies too with a European flair. Definitely worth the stop.
During our visit to Niagara Falls, we decided to drop by a restaurant to grab some beer, muffins, and fruit. Although the options were somewhat limited, the staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to help us.
